Archival Pauline Trigère for I. Magnin Magenta Paisley Pleated Midi Dress
An archival Pauline Trigère for I. Magnin dress in a saturated magenta and black paisley, designed with a sheer, subtly lustrous overlay and beautifully controlled pleating. The finely pleated bodice releases into a fluid skirt, while long, full sleeves and softly gathered shoulders lend volume and movement. Tonal magenta lining beneath the sheer printed layer gives the color remarkable depth.
Distinctive gathered and ruffled shoulder detailing adds another layer of construction to the silhouette. A striking example of Trigère’s sophisticated approach to print, drape and form.

I. Magnin was a storied American luxury retailer with unusually deep ties to European couture. Its European buying tradition began in the early 1900s, and the store later carried fashion from houses including Lanvin, Chanel, Schiaparelli, Givenchy, Valentino and Ungaro. The I. Magnin label adds a notable layer of fashion and retail provenance to this Pauline Trigère piece.
